Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you use LUSTR (the “Service”). The Service is operated by the LUSTR operator (the “Operator”).

In short: Images and fonts loaded into the editor are processed in your browser and, in the current version, are not uploaded to LUSTR servers. LUSTR uses Google Analytics 4 for usage analytics and Stripe for payments and subscription management.

1. Information we collect and process

Visits and product usage

LUSTR uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect cookie or similar identifiers, pages viewed, session information, referring sources, approximate location, browser, device and operating-system details, and interactions with editor and export features. We do not use GA4 to send the text you enter, your generated artwork, or the contents of files you load. Google states that it receives IP addresses at collection time but does not log or store individual IP addresses in GA4.

Purchases and subscriptions

LUSTR uses Stripe for Pro payments and subscription management. Stripe may collect your name, email address, billing information, payment method, purchase amount and date, subscription status, and related transaction information. Complete payment-card details are processed directly by Stripe and are not stored by the Operator.

After checkout, or when you restore Pro access, LUSTR sends the Stripe Checkout Session ID or the email address you provide through a LUSTR server function to Stripe. LUSTR may then receive your email address, payment or subscription status, and Pro expiration information to determine access.

Information stored in your browser

LUSTR uses localStorage to keep your language, entered text, effect settings, layers, presets, export settings, Pro status and expiration, purchase email, and whether certain notices have been shown. This information generally remains on your device until you clear the Service's site data or LUSTR overwrites or removes it.

Images, fonts and other files

Logo images, background images, reflection images and custom fonts loaded into the editor are processed only in your browser in the current version and are not uploaded to LUSTR servers. The files themselves are not saved in localStorage and are handled in temporary browser memory until the page is reloaded or the tab is closed.

Support messages

If you contact us by direct message on X, we process your X account information, message text, timestamps and attachments as needed to reply, provide support and address misuse. Information on X is also processed under X Corp.'s policies.

Delivery and security data

LUSTR is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may process IP addresses, browser or device information, access times and request information to deliver and secure the site, troubleshoot failures and prevent abuse.

To investigate failures, secure the Service and prevent abuse
To respond to support messages and send necessary service communications

3. Service providers and disclosures

The providers below process information where needed to operate LUSTR. Their own privacy policies apply when they process information for their independent purposes. They may process information outside the country where you live.

The Operator does not sell the information it collects and does not disclose it beyond what is necessary, except to the providers below, with your consent, when required by law, or where necessary to protect a person's life, safety or property.

4. Retention

Browser data is kept as described above until you clear site data or it is overwritten or removed. GA4 data is retained according to the Operator's settings and Google's policies. Stripe transaction and subscription information is retained as needed for payment support, legal recordkeeping and fraud prevention. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve the request and prevent disputes. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized using reasonable methods.

5. Your controls

You can reject cookies or clear LUSTR site data and localStorage in your browser settings. Clearing data may remove saved work and the device's stored display of Pro access.
You can disable Google Analytics measurement with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or comparable browser controls.
You can review, change or cancel a subscription through the Stripe customer portal opened from “Manage plan” in the editor.
To request access, correction or deletion of information held by the Operator, contact us below. We will verify the requester and respond as required by applicable law.

6. Security

The Operator uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the scope and nature of the Service to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or loss. No internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Service, our providers or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be announced on this page or by another appropriate method. An updated policy applies when posted here.
